PRAYER
PRAYER
Prayer is how we communicate with our Creator, God Almighty! Prayer is the practice of the being in the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of all of God's children. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7

A Litany For Healing
Let us pray to the God of our faith:
For the people of this country whose hope has been challenged by events and rhetoric that would serve to target one another, sow fear and resentment or make us indifferent to each other’s needs or struggles;
God hear us. God heal us. God make us whole.
For the people of this country who have been made to feel like the “other” unwanted, unseen, unloved;
God hear us. God heal us. God make us whole.
For the people of this country who have suffered and have born the historic brunt of false hierarchies of human value and whose lives have not always mattered;
God hear us. God heal us. God make us whole.
For the people of this country who have operated with unearned privileges and undeserved power because of their majority status;
God hear us. God heal us. God make us whole.
For the people of this nation who have been made to live second class lives because of their gender, age, faith, sexual orientation, social identity or country of origin;
God hear us. God heal us. God make us whole.
For our children, whose health and well-being are important to us all and who deserve a world that can hold their beauty and their promise;
God hear us. God heal us. God make us whole.
For those in this hour who desire their hearts to be open, who long for dialogue, who are prepared and eager to listen to one another;
God hear us. God heal us. God make us whole.
For those who are ready to tell their truth, to offer accountability for what has been and what is now, whose hearts are sufficiently broken and are in lament, who seek and offer forgiveness, who desire healing and are willing to work for the transformation of our country;
God hear us. God heal us. God make us whole.
Amen. Ameen. Ashe. Namaste
